Dr. Brandy Engler

Founder, Psychologist

Silver Lake Psychology is a woman-owned enterprise led entirely by a team of women, and it has rapidly expanded its mental health services network across four states. Dr. Brandy Engler, a psychologist and accomplished author, serves as the Founder of Silver Lake Psychology. Following the success of her published works, “The Men on My Couch” (BerkleyBooks) and “The Women on My Couch,” Dr. Engler established a group practice to address the growing demand for mental health services.

Dr. Engler envisioned a company culture centered around her expertise in relationships, emphasizing empathy, amplifying the client’s voice in their treatment, and promoting inclusivity. New clients are warmly received, their stories attentively listened to, and their therapists thoughtfully selected. In the early stages, Dr. Engler personally met with clients in the evenings and fielded calls from prospective clients during the day. Her deep engagement with the community allowed her to understand people’s desires regarding therapy and the obstacles they faced in accessing mental health care. This insight inspired her to establish a company dedicated to prioritizing client needs.

Silver Lake Psychology has since developed affiliations with hospitals and universities and now offers a wide array of 120 therapy specialties, available in 17 different languages.

Couples Therapy in Nashville

Couples frequently engage in disagreements, which can sometimes be challenging to acknowledge. According to marriage and family therapists, these disagreements may occur every few months or even on a monthly basis. Nevertheless, if your arguments consistently lead to fights, lingering resentment, or the adoption of unhealthy coping strategies, seeking support could be a valuable step.

Arguments often exhibit identifiable patterns, encompassing their origins and resulting effects. Exploring behavioral therapy or acquiring skills in interpersonal communication can prove beneficial in dissecting these patterns and fortifying your relationships.

Couples Counseling: A Foundation For Communication

During therapy, one can develop the skill of active listening by genuinely hearing their partner’s perspective and allowing them the opportunity to express their thoughts. Rather than solely striving to reduce conflicts, couples may shift their focus towards improving communication when disagreements arise in their relationship.

When emotions are running high, maintaining objectivity can be a daunting task. Nonetheless, mastering the art of discussing thoughts and emotions in a constructive manner can serve as a crucial cornerstone for a more robust relationship. When engaging in counseling, it can be beneficial to keep the following principles in mind.
